A word from the head

This time of year is always a special one for both staff and students. Yes, we look forward to the well deserved rest but we are also busy celebrating the wonderful moments from the past academic year.
We certainly have lots to celebrate: our Year 11 students have worked extremely hard and as a result have progressed across all areas, both personal and academic. This year we have four students who have gained a Diploma in Hair and Beauty. We are all very proud of them and the many other students who sat a wide variety of examinations from GCSE, BTECs and Functional Skills.
This year we have only one staff member leaving us, Brett Coverdale our LSA for PE. Brett has gained a promotional post at another ESC leading their BTEC PE programme. Students and staff will miss him but we wish him luck in his new job.
This year we have three new Curriculum Leads joining us, Kate in Catering, Tanya in English, Sid in Mechanics. We also have four new Support Staff, Mark, Helen, Jessica and Laura. We look forward to working with them.
This year we are starting a Key Stage 3 Unit at Briar Patch and Jackie our current Catering Teacher will be leading on this.
All new exciting developments for NHESC!
I always say it, but I will say it again. I am lucky to work with such a great team of staff and such enthusiastic students, who never cease to amaze me with their achievements!
Have a great summer, keep safe and I look forward to seeing you revitalised and ready for action in September!!
